How to use this tool
Enter the regular and bulk pack prices and quantities in the same currency and unit. Add an estimated waste percentage for the bulk pack. Effective bulk unit cost = bulk price ÷ (bulk quantity × usable share). The break-even waste rate is the maximum waste that would keep the bulk option at the regular unit price. This assumes the regular pack is fully used and excludes storage costs, quality differences and the value of tying up cash. For example, a $6 kilogram pack with 25% waste costs $8 per usable kilogram.
