The publication

Editorial standards

Source standards, corrections and advertising independence.

Sources and scope

Use government releases, official statistics, company filings and original statements for factual claims. A news article can identify a lead; it does not replace the underlying evidence. Distinguish proposals from implemented policies, forecasts from outcomes, and demonstrations from commercial availability.

Original value

Each explainer should answer a defined question, explain relevant terms in context and include an independently written example or analytical framework. We do not pad articles with shared filler, repeat titles throughout the body or present recycled news as independent reporting.

How the work is made

AI tools assist research, drafting, editing and software production. Factual statements must be checked against original sources; personal experiences and interviews are included only when they actually occurred. Opinions describe an editorial judgment, not a verified outcome. Corrections are welcome when the evidence supports them.

Dates and corrections

Initial articles were prepared for the launch collection on September 6, 2026. We do not backdate publication to imply an older history. A material revision should update the modification date and identify significant corrections in the article. Source reference periods remain distinct from publication dates.

Coverage priorities

High-interest figures such as Elon Musk and Donald Trump can introduce an economic question, but recognition alone does not justify an article. Relevance, verifiable new information and reader value take precedence over a daily quota.

Subjects we cover

Our 12 desks share a practical focus: helping readers understand a decision, a useful technology or the economics behind a familiar issue. We exclude war coverage, graphic violence, sexual material, personal attacks and unverified gossip. A recognizable name is a starting point only when there is a worthwhile question to answer.

Photographs and adaptations

Article photos carry original source, creator, license and archival context. Different display crops do not imply a different event. Some editor’s notes use AI-adapted illustrations; captions identify them as adaptations because fine details may differ from the source. They are not presented as documentary evidence. Reuse terms and original photographs are linked in our image credits.

Advertising and conflicts

Ad delivery is not active in this initial release. Any future ads must be distinguishable from editorial content. Sponsorship or affiliate relationships must be disclosed where relevant, and must not determine a factual conclusion. No investment recommendation or verified personal holdings disclosure is implied.
