Example

Example: 12 : 18 → 2 : 3

Maximum 1,000,000 characters.

How to use this result

Reduce a two-part integer ratio by dividing both sides by their greatest common divisor. Use it to express the same proportional relationship with smaller whole numbers.

Worked example

a: 12
b: 18
2:3

Limits and edge cases

The first value must be zero or positive and the second must be positive. Both must be safe integers; decimals and negative ratios are rejected. The tool preserves the order of the two sides and does not convert units.
